Where: The Attic when available, or at a baseball field that is convenient for you

Who: Pitching lessons are available to any player 8 years and older

About Lessons: These lessons will be designed to improve each players mechanics, pitch grips, and mobility to make them a better pitcher. Proper mechanics and good mobility allow pitchers to increase their velocity and become more consistent finding the strike zone with all of their pitches. Each pitcher will be given drills individualized to them to work on after one on one training sessions are done to ensure the improvements are not lost, along with a proper warmup routine to prevent injury.

About Me: I am a current college pitcher and recently graduated from the University of Minnesota - Crookston where I was the ace of the staff and a captain. I am transferring to Augustana University (defending D2 National Champions) for my last year of college eligibility. I have coached at various levels, ranging from 3rd grade up to varsity and specialize in working with pitchers. I am currently working toward my Masters in Sports Administration and Leadership with an emphasis in Coaching.

Jordan Skaar - Pitching Lessons

When: 1 hour sessions, mornings anytime from 8 am-noon or in the afternoons by appointment

Where: The Attic when available, or at a baseball field that is convenient for you

Who: Pitching lessons are available to any player 8 years and older

About Lessons: My lessons are designed to improve each pitcher’s mechanics, pitch grips comfortability, arm strength and teach the mental approach to pitching.  Proper mechanics are achieved through teaching the correct pitching form and repetitions with that form.  Learning proper mechanics will allow for the pitcher to be able to adjust from each pitch which will make them more consistent in dominating the strike zone.  Each pitcher will be given drills individualized to them to work on after one on one training sessions are done to ensure the improvements are not lost, along with a proper warmup routine to prevent injury.  The mental approach of the game is taught through general conversations throughout the lesson.

About Me: I am currently the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Valley City State University.  I also coach 14U for Fargo Youth Baseball.  Prior to that, back in my home state of Wisconsin, I was a High School Baseball Coach for seven years, including two as a Varsity Head Coach.  In those seven years I coached four Pitcher of the Year athletes with one pitching D2 at Upper Iowa University.  I pitched collegiately for four years at the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, IA.  I have given private pitching and hitting lessons for the past five years.
